Lucy Jewson is the co-founder and MD for Frugi, the UK’s number 1 organic children’s-wear brand. The company was founded back in 2004 in the back bedroom of her cottage in the village of Constantine. The Frugi concept was born out of Lucy’s need to find clothing that would fit over her new-born son’s ‘environmentally friendly big cloth nappied’ bottom.
Since those early days Frugi has grown into a company that now employs over 80 people in the Helston area and makes products for children up to 10 years old. Their range has expanded into maternity women’s wear and even home wear. Frugi can now be purchased in over 500 stores worldwide, these include John Lewis and Zalando. Frugi is all about proving that you can run a green business that is good for the planet, and its people, profitably. As such Frugi was thrilled to be named in the 2016 The Sunday Time’s Fast Track 100 as “one to watch” and received a Queens Award for Enterprise in 2014.
