Mental Health & Wellbeing in Hospitality

Organiser: Hospitality Table Cornwall

Located near Looe on the South Coast of Cornwall, Trenderway Farm is a tranquil, peaceful and memorable venue for our first Mental Health and Wellbeing forum. Focusing on businesses in the South-East of the county, the day event will be hosted by Hospitality Table Cornwall to inform, inspire, and train business delegates to support themselves and their staff in the workplace.

Hospitality workers are deemed to be one of the most stressed employee populations in the UK. For example, more than 70% of UK hospitality workers report feeling overworked, and 45% take time off due to stress at some point in their career, and we want to support in changing that.

We will hear from Ross, founder of Man Down, a Cornish based group offering a safe space to meet the current emotional and mental health needs of men who are struggling to cope with the everyday pressures facing them in our modern society.

We will then have four 25-minute rotating workshops focusing on wellbeing, food & nutrition, holistic approaches, and support & signposting- all showing different approaches to apply in the workplace, alongside quick, immediate fixes to your workplace to support your team. Each workshop will be lead by a professional in each topic and you will have a chance to ask any questions throughout the day.

Lunch will be provided and created by Apprentices from Truro and Penwith College as well as students from Looe Community Academy with help from our professional chefs.

There will be Mental Health First Aid training for all attendees after lunch for the second part of the day.

As Hospitality Table Cornwall is part-funded by the European Social Fund and Truro and Penwith College, the event is free for hospitality businesses to attend as a first come, first serve basis.
