Consultancy grant to help businesses grow sales outside of Cornwall

By The Growth Hub - 31st August 2022

The Growth Hub have the final few Access to Growth fund grants available for local businesses to increase trade outside of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.

Kirsty Miles-Musgrave, Operations Manager for the Growth Hub, said: “These grants can help SME’s fund consultancy to grow their sales outside of the county by improving their business practice. Previous grants have helped businesses with issues around licencing, exporting, bid writing and procurement and to set up new processes such as sales systems. There are just the final few packages available of £1000 with a minimum £500 contribution from the business.”

Increased trading with domestic markets can be a stepping-stone to international export. In 2019 just 10% of registered businesses in Great Britain exported either goods or services or both* and, with the Government’s aim to “Race to a Trillion” in exports by the end of the decade, there is a need to grow Cornish business' horizons beyond the Tamar, across the Channel and around the world.

Through this grant scheme, businesses can access information, advice and practical assistance to help them develop the right skills and expertise to grow their UK and overseas export trade successfully.

Kirsty continued: “Once the step has been taken to trade outside of local markets it can be somewhat overwhelming. Gaining consultancy advice and guidance on how to develop the right processes and navigate the regulatory landscape can be hugely beneficial.”

The first step to access the grant is to sign up to one of the Growth Hub’s free Q&A webinars:
