Launch of Green-tech marine consultancy Morek Engineering

Morek, meaning Maritime in Cornish, has been launched with the aim of dedicating their specialist skills towards a sustainable future, through reducing the environmental impact of the marine industry. Namely, working to generate clean energy from the power of the seas; exploring technologies to reduce the impact of marine transportation; and to contribute to the reversal and recuperation of the current state of our polluted seas. Director Bob Colclough formed Morek with the goal of getting involved in the most cutting-edge elements of the sustainable marine/maritime sector.

Bob says "I have started by developing a base workload through a conventional offering of naval architecture and project engineering but have a medium-term objective to disrupt the traditional marine sector through the development of some exciting and innovative tech.  Highest on the list is the emerging floating offshore wind sector, one in which Cornwall has a huge opportunity to position itself as a global leader. Also, on the agenda are wind assistance for shipping and development of technology to join the fight against marine plastics."

Morek’s offering combines a unique blend of offshore operational experience mixed with high end engineering skillset.  This offering allows them to systematically and efficiently unlock creative solutions to challenging offshore problems, as their Director’s impressive track record effectively demonstrates.
