Gin fanatic Holly Harwood’s dreams have come true after overwhelming support from members of the public. The new Cornish gin will now go ahead thanks to generous donations on Crowdfunder. Here’s her story;
“My love of Cornwall really has inspired me to create this gin and it has been a long journey to get to where I am now. I am 28 and grew up in Cornwall. I studied history at Tremough and then started working with Dolly at Dolly’s Tea Room in Falmouth,” says Holly.
“I decided I wanted to gain more experience in this particular industry, so moved to London 4 years ago and worked in bars, pubs, gin festivals. I even had a role as a gin brand ambassador and started a drinks blog. Earlier this year, I won a viral job for ‘the best job in the world for gin lovers’. Ilovegin.com were looking for a ‘gintern’, someone to visit distilleries and create content with gin for a living. I got this job out of 5000 applicants!
“Since then I have had the confidence to create my own recipe and design my gin bottle. It was so important for me to have it made in my home county of Cornwall. Gin is so popular now and I have had enormous support so far – have now made the target on my Crowd Funder, so the gin will go ahead.
“I will be distilling it at the end of November at Trevethan Distillery and bottling and labelling myself, ready to send out before Christmas.”
