New partnership to support creative businesses in Cornwall

A Cornish social media agency has joined forces with a business and skills development programme aimed at supporting creative industries businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. 

Oh So Social, an award-winning international social media marketing agency based in Penryn, have developed a new working partnership with Cultivator, a project supporting creative businesses to grow, with expert advisers, funding opportunities, workshops and events. Cultivator is funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds, Arts Council England and Cornwall Council. 

Following an open tendering process, Oh So Social were selected based on the team’s previous strong results on other projects and a range of proposals tailored to Cultivator’s social media needs. Oh So Social will now be managing Cultivator’s social media accounts, helping them to communicate with their creative community effectively and remain engaged with businesses throughout the difficult economic times ahead. 

Oh So Social founder Katherine George said: “As a team of creative social media experts, we’re really excited to be working with Cultivator and acting to support the creative sector in an entirely new way. This support is even more crucial within the current business landscape following the two Covid-19 lockdowns, and we’re proud to be able to use our social media expertise to help small businesses in any way we can.”

Oh So Social has worked on well-known projects including providing full social media management and strategy for The Man Engine’s 2016 tour, social media support and advertising for TEDxTruro, plus social media strategy and campaigns for brands including Furniss Biscuits. Founder Katherine George has also been recognised by Facebook as one of eight Blueprint Lead Trainers in Europe, and one of 24 #SheMeansBusiness mentors in the UK. 

Most recently, Oh So Social has supported various businesses through the first Covid-19 lockdown, including food wholesaler Proper Cornish, who they helped to embrace a new way of trading and communicate with their customers through social media.
