Newquay BID relaunches popular loyalty card

By Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) - 22nd November 2022

Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) has announced the return of the popular Love Newquay Loyalty Card scheme alongside an opening up of the programme to everyone who visits and regular locals.

Figures show that if every TR7 post-coded household spent just an extra £5 per week on Newquay’s high street, there would be an additional £45,000 generated into the town’s local economy week-on-week. Especially in these post-pandemic and cost-pressurised times, hard-working local businesses need the support of shoppers, diners and guests more than ever before.

Launch offers from a number of Newquay BID member businesses of all types are now available via the card. However, Newquay BID Manager Mark Warren called out to all businesses across the town to get involved quickly so they can benefit from the renewal of the programme.

Mark Warren, who has spearheaded the relaunch, said: “This year, more than ever, it is important to stay positive. Newquay BID is determined to provide added incentives to bring everyone out onto our streets and surrounding areas —shopping, dining and getting involved in all the great activities, and also using brilliant services, that our local Newquay businesses provide.”

The previous iteration of the Love Newquay Loyalty Card was a locals-only option. However, Newquay BID has done away with this restriction, making the new programme a deal-maker option for everyone who loves to come to Newquay and enjoy all the benefits of the town.

Mark Warren said: “It was a brilliant scheme before, and we’re excited not only to be bringing it back, but to be extending its reach and its potential mutual benefits for both businesses and customers. Our launch is super timely as it means out-of-season and Christmas deals are on offer, and this gives us an awesome way to showcase and highlight the involved businesses. All this whilst promoting local and sustainable shopping and entertainment to our tens of thousands of Love NQY followers.”

A Love NQY Loyalty Card will be posted to all 16,000 homes in the TR7 and TR8 postcodes. Permanent cards are also available to be picked up from Newquay Tourist Information Centre on Marcus Hill in the town and from participating businesses.

Activating and using the Love NQY Loyalty Card is simple. All users need to do is open the camera on their smart phone and hold it over the QR code on the cards and posters that participating businesses will be displaying around the town.

This takes you to the constantly-updating web pages where local businesses are showcasing the special offers and deals that they have available for Love NQY users. If you don’t have a smartphone, the card can still be picked up from the Tourist Information Centre and used at any business displaying the Love NQY posters around town.

There's no cost for businesses to get involved and interested businesses who haven’t yet registered their Love NQY options should contact Mark Warren [email protected] ASAP.
