RRL Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers, Coodes Solicitors and NatWest teamed up last week to deliver their free ‘Penwith Business Endurance Post-Brexit’ event at the Exchange in Penzance, in association with the Penzance Business Breakfast.

Speakers at the event included Amanda Winwood, Managing Director of Made for Life Organics and Dr Joanie Willett, Politics Lecturer at the University of Exeter, both highlighting how businesses in the Penwith area could best prepare for life after Brexit. Also speaking were Alison Elvey, Grants Specialist at RRL, and Philip Sayers, Employment Lawyer, Coodes Solicitors.

Mark Williams, Partner at RRL, explained, “It was fantastic to see such an excellent turnout for the event, with so many representatives from local businesses. Brexit has been something at the forefront of a lot of people’s minds recently when planning for the future, so we were pleased to be able to offer some clarity.

“The response from the businesses that attended has been very positive, and we are planning another event in the new year on another topic of interest to businesses, so watch this space.”

Esther Barrand, Business Growth Enabler, NatWest: “With all of the uncertainty surrounding Brexit it was great to put on such a well-attended business breakfast. Dr Joanie Willett, Amanda Winwood and the other speakers left us feeling positive and upbeat about what could be for some a challenging time. As a bank NatWest are here for our customers and are working hard to ensure they have all the support they need.”

Sonya Bassett, Partner at Coodes, “The team at Coodes was delighted to be involved in such a positive event. It really showed that, rather than sitting around and waiting to see what will happen, the local Cornish business community is embracing the opportunities to grow and innovate.”
