Service to help employers and small businesses support employee health and disability
A new online service has been created to offer free advice to employers and small businesses on employee disability or health conditions.
The Support with Employee Health and Disability service offers guided information for employers including help on legal obligations such as reasonable adjustments and links to further detailed resources.
It’s believed this will benefit employers in a number of ways including helping with staff retention and supporting interactions around work, disability, and health, including in areas where employers can lack confidence, like mental health.
People using the online resource will be able to print off content to take away and refer to when needed.
A spokesperson for the service, which has been described as ‘easy to use’ with no account or log in details, said: “By providing access to the Support with Employee Health and Disability service through a link on your website, you will be providing SME’s in your region with practical help to create inclusive and productive working environments.
“This service has been developed with input from employers, employers’ organisations, disabled people and disability organisations, and remains in development.
“As we add content, this link will be automatically refreshed to provide users with the most up to date information.”
The service also includes a feedback link on the site which employers can use to share thoughts and ideas to help inform further improvements.
