Triple your positive impact as a business this autumn

By Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Growth Hub - 30th August 2024

Companies looking to focus as much on social and environmental concerns as they do on profits should check out the Growth Hub “Sustainable September” series of free events.

Businesses can do their part to tackle the significant challenges of climate change and inequality, by looking at how they can become more sustainable for people, planet and profit.

The goal of a sustainable business strategy is to positively impact the environment, society, while also benefiting your bank account. Through this, business leaders can realise their power to not only help address the world’s most pressing issues, but also drive their firms’ success.

Whether you’re aiming to calculate your carbon footprint, create a fairer workplace, or looking to boost creativity through nature - the Growth Hub is here to help. Their expert partners can assist with evaluating your current emissions, developing effective decarbonisation strategies and providing essential training and toolkits to tackle gender pay and inclusion.

At a recent Growth Hub-powered event, Rebecca from Aqualibrium, said: “I’ve learnt how to assess the environmental impact of my business and, crucially, how to distinguish between the responsibilities that lie with me and those that belong to my collaborators.”

During September there will be a number of green events powered by Growth Hub including Net Zero and Carbon Literacy Support for Enterprises – on September 4th, Innovation in the Wild: Dartmoor - an overnight event on 12th-13th September, Fairer Futures: Tackling the Gender Pay Gap which can contribute to sustainability - on September 18th  and Sustainable Finance - on 25th September.

Kirsty Miles-Musgrave, the Growth Hub’s Investment Operations Manager, says: “We offer a variety of business support programmes designed to help you reach your goals. Our extensive database of resources is at your disposal, and our partners are ready to assess your business’s current operations and environmental and social impact. With this information, we can provide practical solutions and recommendations to help you on your sustainable growth journey.”
