Rebelicious Sauces celebrates winning at the 2020 Nourish Awards

Cornwall-based company Rebelicious has won a prestigious award for its Beetroot and Horseradish Ketchup

The team behind Rebelicious which is based in Truro were announced as winners at the 2020 Nourish Awards which celebrates and honours the best new generation health foods in the UK.

This year’s awards gala was held online to announce the 2020 Nourish Awards winners. The host for the evening was chef, nutritionist and author Naomi Devlin. Categories included best snacks, purely plants, best raw and superfood and there were also awards for best ethical, best organic and the all important innovation award.

 “We are proud and delighted to have won this award. It’s been the culmination of a lot of hard work from a company which is committed to creating healthy food and drink products which are nutritious and tasty. It’s humbling to be in the company of the other nominees and getting to know more about their products too,” said Tilly Aviram, Co Founder, Rebelicious

The winners and runners up were judged by qualified and practising nutritionists and leaders in the food, drink and business sectors including Melissa Kuman nutritionist, Tim May of NOSH books, Gareth Hobbs MD of Visionary Food Solutions, Susan Hay founder of Thrive Magazine and Margarita Kalna founder of the successful Free From Festival. Beetroot and Horseradish Ketchup was chosen by the judges for Cupboard Essentials & Ingredients

“This year’s awards attracted a hight level of entries despite the current climate and a remote judging was held during May and June. The judges had a difficult job choosing the runners up and winners. All producers who entered the awards are paving the way to offering better, healthy eating choices. We should celebrate with great pride those who are putting their stamp on the healthy food industry.”

Rebelicious was founded to provide sauces and condiments for grown ups and children, all of their products are low in salt, and reduced sugar, certified by Sugarwise.

“When Felicity my daughter was 6months and weaning, we wanted to eat together, I could find nothing on the shelves that matched what we wanted to cook with, so we started making our sauces and condiments for us to eat together, then we realised that other parents might want to have them as well”
