What are the grants for?

This grant is for the investment in research and development at the local level and to support the diffusion of innovation knowledge and activities.  The funding can support the commercialisation of ideas, encouraging collaboration and accelerating the path to market so that more ideas translate into industrial and commercial practice.

Minimum grant value of £2,500 and the anticipated average grant value for this fund is £17,000.

Applicants must use their grant to create a positive outcome such as:

  • Introduce new products to the business
  • Take part in new knowledge transfer activity following support
  • Adopt new technologies or processes in the business
  • Have new to market products
  • Reduce Greenhouse gas (% decrease in Tonnes of Co2e)
  • Improve productivity

Your business must... 

Provide at least 50% match funding. 

Cashflow the total cost of your project as grants will be claimed retrospectively.

Contribute to the Good Growth Principles.

How do I apply?

Tell us more about your business and we can discuss your ideas in more detail in a free business review. We will also discuss your wider business opportunities and challenges to signpost you to any support or training you may need.

We can also look at resources to help you gather evidence, or benchmarking you can undertake, to show the need for the grant funding.

After you receive your grant

We will keep in touch to support you throughout the delivery of your project, to make sure you are on track to achieve the goals you set out as part of your application.
