Truro and Penwith College forges strategic partnership

By Truro and Penwith College - 17th April 2024

Truro and Penwith College is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with Your Partnerships Network that will enhance educational opportunities in Cornwall and continue the College’s work to address the evolving needs of the local business community.

The new partnership will further enhance the College’s links with a diverse range of employers that allows it to complement its high-quality training with a host of industry experience opportunities for students, while continuing to ensure its training is constantly developed to meet needs of employers.

Your Partnerships focuses on bringing businesses together to enhance partnerships and working relationships. The new partnership will allow the College to grow its network of Cornwall’s top employer partners, continuing its collaborative work to address the future skills needs of Cornwall and continued development of quality training programmes, work experience and progression opportunities for its students.

By focusing on skills development, economic growth and business community well-being, the partnership aims to make a positive and lasting impact on the overall prosperity of the region. Drawing on Your Partnerships business community-centric approach, Truro and Penwith College aims to strengthen its ties with the local business community. Through joint initiatives and outreach programmes, the partnership seeks to foster greater engagement, collaboration and mutual support from employers, creating a stronger and more cohesive educational ecosystem.

Recognising the importance of equipping students with practical skills for the modern workforce, the partnership will focus on enhancing employability by aligning educational programmes with the needs of local industries. Increasing work experience placements is a key objective, providing students with valuable hands-on experience and networking opportunities across sectors.

Investing in the continuous professional development of teaching staff is also a priority. Through workshops, seminars, training sessions and continually improving industry links, the partnership will empower educators to excel in their roles, building on activities such as the College’s annual ‘Industry Immersion Day’ that see’s educators regularly return to their industry to enhance the quality and industry relevance of education provided to students.
