BBwear manufactures a range of protective clothing for beekeepers as well as equipment, bee supplies and starter kits. BBWear is a family run business based in Truro, founded in 2000 by Belinda and Michael Bright.
Belinda & Michael's combined experience in textile design and manufacturing has seen the company become a market leader with their range of British made protective clothing for beekeepers, now sold all over the world.

How we helped
BB Wear had developed a new "Ultra" suit with revolutionary features for beekeepers who are prone to allergies, to give them the very best protection.
The suit has proved popular with pest control businesses who are leading the control of invasive species such as the Asian and European hornets.
The Ultra suit comes in several different sizes and also hand cut to outside the average size guide for a bespoke fit.
They were involved with SWMAS who had been extremely helpful as they were trying to get a CE mark for the new suit, which would benefit them selling into Europe to pest control companies.
SWMAS pointed Belinda and Mark in the direction of the Growth Hub. They met with our Connector and he recommended funding to help secure a CE mark with a help of a consultant.
The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub from May 2016 - June 2023 was part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and match funded by Cornwall Council, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership. The project received £2,848,591.49 of funding from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
