How we've helped Cornwall Pride

Skills Hub case study

Business overview

Cornwall Pride is a Community Interest Company with the key aim of helping to facilitate and promote equality and diversity throughout Cornwall.

We’ve been able to deliver on one of our funding grants, which was thanks to the Skills Hub, delivering a weekly digital event across Cornwall Pride’s social media.

How we helped

Did you know that Cornwall is home to the only pride in the world that goes on tour? That's right, no other pride across the world puts a pride on tour, with Cornwall being home to the staging a ‘mini-pride’ across 18 Cornish towns over just two days.

Cornwall Pride bought this incredible dedication and enthusiasm to the Skills Hub with the aim of using training and skills development to help in pushing their strategic vision forward.

“The Skills Hub supports many organisations just like ours in the charitable sector, and we see that as being a good fit given that our vision is to remain innovative and forward-thinking as an organisation,” said Matthew Kennedy-Gomes, Cornwall Pride Chairperson.

A Community Interest Company since 2016, Cornwall Pride delivers a range of initiatives across the year to engage with the wider community. Many, if not most of these events would traditionally be held in a face-to-face setting, but that hasn’t stopped the group from innovating and finding new ways to reach their supporters.

“We started something called Isolation Idol, which invited different artists and musicians across Cornwall to compete online with the winner being the headline act for Cornwall Pride this year.

“We’ve been able to deliver on one of our funding grants, which was thanks to the Skills Hub, delivering a weekly digital event across Cornwall Pride’s social media. It’s all about engagement and getting people together in any way that we can,” said Matthew.
