Like many small business owners James was so focused on the day job that he hadn’t had a chance to think about the future.

After getting in touch with the Growth Hub, James met with Mark Harris, one of our Business Connectors, to discuss the company’s direction and focus. By learning about its aims and objectives, Mark was able to identify tailored support to benefit EEDS.

Following the initial meeting, Mark suggested there was support available to develop a business strategy as well as funding and networking opportunities. James was referred to the Unlocking Potential Breakthrough programme, which helps ambitious new and early stage businesses to grow, and was signposted to Access to Finance, which helps businesses raise finance for growth.

James said: “I was unaware of the support available out there. Mark has a wealth of experience and it is fantastic to have him alongside us as we learn and grow. Meeting with the Growth Hub really helped us to look outwards and set off a chain reaction of people to talk to.”

The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub from May 2016 -  June 2023 was part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and match funded by Cornwall Council, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership.  The project received £2,848,591.49 of funding from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. 

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Skills Hub from October 2017 - June 2023 was part funded by the European Social Fund and match funded by Cornwall Council and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership. The project  received £2,885,993 of funding from the European Social Fund as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England.
