How we've helped Equally Simple

Skills Hub case study

Business overview

Judith Cook established Equally Simple because fairness doesn’t have to be complicated for any organisation.

If you’re not interacting with the right groups, you sometimes miss out on what is happening and who to speak with and the Skills Hub was exactly that for me.

How we helped

Equally Simple is an equality and diversity training service based in Liskeard, working across the entirety of Cornwall. Judith came to the Skills Hub looking for help with having her business ready for the new ways in which we are all working, in need of skills within the digital space to ensure that Equally Simple’s services are reaching the right people.

Judith tasked our Skills Connector Clair with finding a training solution that would suit her needs best.

“So much has changed since I first started with my training over a decade ago. I’ve developed some new areas to expand into simply through looking at several high-profile issues that have come up recently such as gender-based violence, racism, and even vulnerable groups being difficult to reach with the vaccination program.

“With that in mind it’s important for me to become more involved in social media, so I can further promote my business,” Judith said.

On finding the Skills Hub, Judith has been thoroughly impressed with the service received thus far as she makes her way forward on her training journey.

“If you’re not interacting with the right groups, you sometimes miss out on what is happening and who to speak with and the Skills Hub was exactly that for me,” she said.

Having embraced video calling and training via a virtual environment, Judith hopes that a return to face-to-face training is on the cards soon.

“Face-to-face is ideal for me, as you cannot see body language via a video call. If you’ve taken someone to an emotive place, you can take them out of it again by talking things through and it’s very difficult to do that when working online,” she said.
