The idea for muggi, "the world’s most versatile drinks carrier", was born on the Cornish waters off Falmouth. With a reputation of being a serial ideas man, David gave himself the task of coming up with a product  to successfully make and transport around a boat, four cups of tea, after a disastrous attempt during a force 7 gale. 

David was already running a successful tree house building company but moved on to concentrate on muggi full time, launching the first version of muggi in 2011 at The London Boat Show. He has since expanded his market to include motorhomes, pubs and as a mobility aid.

David moved to Cornwall just in the middle of 2020 lockdown and was keen to tap into support that was available and network with the local business community.

Growth for muggi is to look at further product development with the launch of 100% recycled or as David puts it "regenerated" plastic using ghost fishing nets from the local coastline.

“If you are developing a new product now, you should think about recyclability and the end of life of the product. Muggi are guaranteed to last at least 88 years, if you don’t give it to your dog! So, the carbon is locked in for a lifetime and you can pass it onto your grandchildren.”
