Talons is a zoo licensed, animal encounter company based in Cornwall. They provide entertaining and educational animal encounters for schools and other academic institutions and specialising in cognitive stimulation therapy sessions for the elderly, dementia sufferers, special needs, learning disabilities and the physically disabled.

How we helped
Senara and Matt found were looking for help and advice with their business and discovered the Growth Hub website. They called to detail their ambitions and Growth Hub Business Connector Christina Hunnings, met with them at Senara’s farm to discuss their ideas.
"Christina was great", Senara recalls "She sat down and listened … and we said what we’d like to achieve. Within six weeks we’d actually achieved our first aim of converting in a community interest company."
A grant from the National Lottery has followed recently and that’s enabling them to install new enclosures.
Senara said, ‘"We were awarded a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund to help towards the costs of improvements desperately needed for some of the animal’s enclosures, and ongoing costs."
The Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub from May 2016 - June 2023 was part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and match funded by Cornwall Council, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership. The project received £2,848,591.49 of funding from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
