Sharp’s launches new pale ale honouring Cornwall’s contrasting coastlines

By Sharp’s Brewery - 20th March 2024

Sharp’s Brewery is introducing a new cask pale ale, paying testament to the differing Cornish coastline, ahead of the summer season, as the company celebrates 30 years of success.

The launch comes on the 30th anniversary of Sharp’s Brewery being founded in Rock, Cornwall, in 1994. Since then, it has become the largest brewer of cask beer in the South West and boasts a range of award-winning beers.

Sharp’s has announced the arrival of Twin Coast Session Pale Ale, available in venues up and down the country from the 18th March 2024.

The new 3.9% ABV cask pale ale, inspired by the Twin Coast peninsula in Cornwall, is a crisp, bright a pale-gold ale with a citrus-hop aroma, giving it a refreshing, juicy taste, perfect for pale ale lovers who want a burst of hop from their pint.

Twin Coast will offer a unique option to meet this growing demand, delivering a breaking wave of refreshment to beer lovers in pubs across the UK.

Last year, the brewer launched Sharp’s Solar Wave, a hazy cask IPA, which has sold more than one million pints since launching in March 2023.

James Nicholls, marketing controller at Sharp’s, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 30 years of great brewing at our home in Rock, Cornwall, and what better way to mark the occasion than with the launch of our new Twin Coast Session Pale Ale. This year Twin Coast will be exclusively brewed in cask and like all our cask beer it will be all brewed right here in Cornwall.

“We wanted a beer to celebrate our love of our Cornish home and coastline so we’ve taken inspiration from the Twin Coast peninsula in Cornwall where we are able to easily hop between county’s mellower south coast and the rugged north edge. Twin Coast Session Pale Ale encapsulates the two contrasting coastlines, with mellow biscuity notes combining with a vibrant hoppy flavour that customers are sure to enjoy.

“We’re helping our pub customers tap into the booming golden and pale ale category this summer while giving beer lovers a citrussy-hoppy beer that delivers on taste.”

A testament to the quality of its products, Sharp’s now has a tally of over 150 international brewing awards, including the Country Winner accolade for Camel Valley Pilsner at the 2023 World Beer Awards, plus silver medals for Doom Bar, Atlantic Pale Ale, Offshore Pilsner and Doom Bar Zero. Camel Valley Pilsner, Doom Bar Zero, Atlantic Pale Ale, Offshore Pilsner and Chalky’s Bite also picked up medals at the International Brewing Challenge 2023.

The company will be announcing a range of activities and supporting sponsorships to mark its 30th year in the coming months.
